Beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase

Beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HBDH) is one of the enzymes that can be used to diagnose damage to heart muscle cells. Increased HBDH concentration usually occurs in heart muscle diseases, e.g. heart attack or inflammation. It is a more specific enzyme than lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).
