Nickel is a commonly occurring element in nature In industry, it is used for electroplating and making steel stainless steel, locally there may be contamination of water or soil with nickel in areas rich in smelters and mines. Absorption is mainly by inhalation and ingestion. Nickel can act sensitizing and irritating effects.
