Oxcarbazepine

Oscarbazepine is a ketone analog of carbamazepine. It belongs to the drugs antiepileptic drugs that blocks sodium channels, and as a result stabilizes overexcited nerve cell membranes and reduces the spread of synaptic impulses. The drug becomes active after conversion in the body to an active metabolite. Determination of blood concentration is performed when suspected poisoning and p monitoring of drug dosage.
