People infected with H.pylori develop:

• inflammatory reaction of the mucosa,
• chronic gastritis,
• an inflammatory gastritis,
• ulcer disease,
• as a last resort, cancer,

The concentration of IgG reaches a maximum 3 weeks after infection and remains increased throughout the duration of infection and variously long after cure.
