Allergy panel of 20 food allergens

Allergy Panel is a panel of food allergens in one test to confirm or rule out food allergy. Food allergy is an abnormal reaction of the immune system to contact with an allergen found in food.

IgE antibodies in the blood

The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed when an allergic reaction is suspected.

The advantage of the test is that there is no need to discontinue medications, which is necessary for point-of-care skin tests. Blood test gives reliable results also in case of severe allergic symptoms.

A blood allergy test is also used to qualify for desensitization. It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under 4 years of age, since it is only from this age that point-of-care skin testing can be used (due to the need for the child's cooperation during point-of-care skin testing).
