The determination of the free subunit of ß-hCG is, in addition to the determination of pregnancy protein A, the recommended biochemical test for pregnant women by the Polish Gynecological Society and the FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation in London), performed between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy.
