Rheumatoid factor - latex agglutination test

Testing the level of rheumatoid factor by means of a latex reaction latex reaction in the blood.

Rheumatoid factors are autoantibodies against a fragment of the immunoglobulins. The test is mainly performed to confirm rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid factors also appear in:

• the course of other connective tissue diseases (e.g., Sjögren's syndrome, lupus, Sharpe syndrome),
• infectious diseases (mononucleosis, bacterial endocarditis endocarditis, chronic hepatitis),
• parasitic diseases (leishmaniasis),
• proliferative diseases of the lymphatic system (lymphomas, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Waldenström disease) and mixed cryoglobulinemia type II.
